About the Creators
The stories in Jette & Jo books and songs are original written works created by humans. Lyrics, melodies, and book storytelling are written by the creative team.
Jette & Jo is co-created by sisters Chel Hill and Kelli Hill, with support from their family and collaborators. The books are narrated by their mother, Juana Hart. The characters are voiced by Kelli’s daughters.
Chel Hill is a songwriter and creative founder who believes stories and music can help children make sense of big feelings. She serves as the primary creative lead behind Jette & Jo. Chel also created the original animations and visual storytelling that introduced Jette & Jo in its early stages. Kelli Hill is an Emmy® and Clio Award–winning live events producer whose experience in creative leadership and high-impact storytelling contributes to the vision and execution of Jette & Jo.
Together, Chel and Kelli created Jette & Jo to offer gentle, thoughtful books and songs that support confidence, courage, and emotional expression — especially for children who feel deeply, quietly, or intensely.
Jette & Jo grew out of a shared belief that children deserve creative work that doesn’t rush them, shout at them, or talk down to them.
Why Jette & Jo
Chel and Kelli noticed a growing need for children’s stories that make space for reflection, sensitivity, and inner growth — especially in a media landscape that often moves quickly and loudly.

This family involvement reflects the heart of the project: storytelling rooted in trust, connection, and real relationships.
A background in music and creative leadership
Chel Hill is a professional songwriter and a Voting Member of the Recording Academy. She is also the founder of The Song Builders, where she designs music-driven experiences for teams focused on connection, communication, and leadership.
Her work sits at the intersection of creativity and human connection — and that same approach shapes every Jette & Jo story.
A note to parents and caregivers
Jette & Jo stories are created with care.
They are written to support meaningful conversations, emotional vocabulary, and moments of calm connection — whether read at bedtime, in classrooms, or during everyday transitions.
Chel and Kelli believe that stories can be a bridge:
